Submission terms & giveaway rules

These terms cover what you may submit, the permission you grant us to use it, how rewards are earned, and how the monthly gas giveaway works.

Official submission terms

You may only submit photos and videos that you personally captured in the local city/area represented by this website.
You may not submit vacation photos, content from another city, images downloaded from the internet, screenshots, AI-generated images, or anything you do not own or have permission to submit.
Each submission must visibly show its local setting through a recognizable business, landmark, street, event, neighborhood, scenery, sign, or other location detail. An isolated object that could have been photographed anywhere may be rejected.

By submitting content and ticking the permission box, you confirm that you own the photo or video or have the legal right to submit it, and you authorize the Local City Network and its affiliated Local City websites to use, reproduce, edit, crop, publish, display, distribute, and promote that content on Local City websites, social media posts, advertising, marketing materials, and other promotional uses we decide are appropriate.
Once content is submitted and accepted under these program terms, we may begin using it immediately. We will not contact you separately for permission each time.
You keep ownership of your content and may continue to use it yourself.

Submissions do not earn entries automatically. Every submission enters Pending Review and an administrator must approve it before any gas entries are awarded.
Approved photos, approved videos, content we feature, Photo of the Week selections, milestone rewards and administrator bonus awards each add gas entries to the current month's drawing. Current values are shown on the program page and may be changed at any time.
Gas entries have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, and may be removed if a submission is found to breach these terms.

Duplicate files, bulk low-quality uploads and content unrelated to the local area may be rejected.
A contributor may keep up to 200 photos in the system at one time. Photos marked Not Selected or Rejected are permanently cleared from the system 3 days after that decision, creating room for new uploads. Contributors are responsible for keeping their own copies.
Accounts may be flagged or suspended for abuse or unusually high upload activity.

One winner per month receives a full tank of gas, up to 15 gallons of fuel.
Ten runner-ups per month receive gas cards valued at $10, $20, or $30.

Contributors earn a giveaway entry for each qualifying submission accepted into the program.
The winner is chosen by an automated random selection from eligible entries across the Local City Network.
Winning one month does not remove you from future drawings — you can win again.

Winners are announced publicly by first name and last initial plus city only. Contact details are never published.
